The Holy Spirit was in the beginning
Genesis 1:1-2 – He is ever present.
Whenever there is emptiness, darkness, chaos, the presence of God is there to bring light and
life to the situation.
The Holy Spirit gives us authority.
Genesis 1:26
The Holy Spirit is the 3 rd person in the Trinity – which is God the Father, God the Son, & God the
Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit is introduced as the Spirit of Truth
John 16:12-15 – the Work of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit does not bring new or different teachings, but reveals the same truth that Jesus
has revealed, which all comes from the Father.
John 14:6, Jesus says I am the Truth.
Seven (7) I AM Statements – if you’re taking notes: Jesus said –
- John 6:35 – I am the bread of life;
- John 8:12 – I am the light of the world;
- John 10:7, 9 – I am the door of the sheep;
- John 10:11,14 – I am the good Shepherd,
- John 11:25 – I am the resurrection and the life;
- John 14:6 – I am the way, the truth, and the life;
- John 15:1 – I am the true vine.

Jesus is the truth – and so the Holy Spirit is also the Spirit of Truth.
Allos Parakletos – Another of the Same Kind – Jesus refers to Him in

Three (3) purposes: As the Spirit of Truth:
Holy Spirit is the COUNSELOR who BRINGS 1. Conviction, 2. Clarity & 3. Guidance:
- Conviction - John 15:4
- Clarity - 1 Corinthians 2:10, Jeremiah 33:3
- Guidance - Genesis 1:2, Gen 14:26
3 Requirements for the Holy Spirit to accomplish His purpose:
- We have to Surrender
- We have to be in Great Expectations
